Approval of grant funds exceeding $10 million, including recent grants of approximately $1.5 million for major drainage improvements citywide.  These funds are obtained through federal, state and local funding sources and are used to plan and complete numerous projects citywide:

Annex Area Water and Gas Project – Replacement of water and gas lines in target area including relocation of meters and installation of additional fire hydrants.

Housing Authority Drainage and Sidewalk Improvements – Installation of sub-surface drainage along South Barbier and Plantation Road.  Sidewalk construction on both sides of Plantation Road to Tiger Drive.

Back Street Roadway and Waterline Improvements – Removal of abandoned railroad tracks and reconstruction of roadway from St. Charles Street to Canal Blvd., including the creation of a right turn lane for access to Back Street from Canal Blvd.  Replacement of water lines from St. Charles Street to President Street.
